I waited thirty five minutes for chicken broccoli with white rice and an egg roll for $25. In that time two take out orders were wrong. When I got my food it was cold, an extremely small portion of greasy, gelatinous chicken, and the white rice was a pint vs a quart which they said came with it. They refunded my money and I returned the food. I am here on business but how in the hell is this place rated as highly as it is? Go anywhere else!

Dirty dirty dirty. Even though the food tastes good the place is so dated and dirty it grosses me out

I've had arguments whether this place is the best for Chinese food or Single Pebble and my vote goes for Silver Palace. Their garlic fried rice is amazing and the seafood is great. They are on the pricey side so the value can be considered meh but the food is really good. They have the best dumplings I've had in Vermont lately. I used to go to Lee's for my take out but since their quality declined so much, I pay the premium to come here, just less often than before

Not good, and expensive. Bland should not be the term that comes to mind when eating Szechuan dishes. Better "authentic" Chinese options in town. Service was good, can't ding the front of the house.

This restaurant has gone down hill over the last couple years (I've been going here for about 20 years). Very overpriced for the quality. I ordered a General Tso's Scallop and what I got was poorly deep fried bay scallops with nothing else. Seriously?...not for $20+...

Amazing little gem. I have to travel to Burlington quite a bit and am always looking for a good place to eat. Silver Palace was less than a mile from my room at the Doubletree. Slipped in the door with an hour to close, the staff were very gracious and we never felt rushed. The wine list is quite small, but held a few little gems at quite reasonable prices. The menu itself, along withe the evening specials were not just American Chinese dishes. There were Thai, Indian, Italian and fusion dishes offered. I went with the Pork Dim-Sum with peanut sauce. Sweet and spicy, not tasting like warm peanut butter, and not covering the pork and scallion filling. The Kimchee Soup was spicy-hot and had me almost sweating, just how I like it. It was stew like in the amount of Kimmie, mushrooms, rice, and tofu. If it had been any larger I would have had to take my entrees to go! Lobster Ravioli in a Basil cream sauce, udon noodles over a bed of garlic sauteed spinach. The ravioli was amazing, seared but not rubbery, filling was a perfectly balanced light cheese and lobster flavor. Sauce was not to heavy and complemented both the spinach and the ravioli. I WILL be going back next month to try a few more dishes!

I am a fan, I go there all the time. I love their wonton soup and their sweet and sour chicken. The service is always great.

Some people think places like Panda Express is real Chinese food but it is as fake as Taco Bell. Do yourself a favor if you live in Burlington and go out for a nice dinner at Silver Palace. This reasonably priced, sit down restaurant has some amazing food with good sized portions. My personal favorite? Popcorn squid (think calamari with some kick). However, any dish here is good so feel free to order whatever you want. I am in Burlington several times a year and I ALWAYS take a trip over there. If you are in South Florida, Silver Palace's sister restaurant, Rainbow Palace in Ft. Lauderdale, is a great choice as well.

Found this gem behind Dunken Doughnuts. Not sure what to expect. Once inside, this place is upscale. Not your typical Chinese restaurant. The food even better. It reminds me of Shun Lee on NY. Will definitely come back when I'm Burlington

First time coming to this place. It is very nice inside compared to the other chinese restaurants around. Has more of an authentic feeling to it. The service was good and food was delicious. Recommend the pork fried rice and Singapore noodles. However, the wait was horrendous. We waited 35-45 minutes for our food, so I would not recommend bringing young kids with you or you will scarfing down the delicious food instead of enjoying it.

I travel to Burlington each week and I was so craving for Chinese one night this place was the closest one to me so checked it out. I ordered the hot and sour soup and the hongkong seafood special with shrimp and salmon. The soup tasted very authentic and was nice and warm even after getting back to the hotel. The seafood dish with garlic rice was awesome as well. Best place for Chinese in Burlington, hands down!

My family has been eating at Silver Palace at least once a week since it opened in the. 80's. Far and away the best Asian Food in the Burlington area. Kim Chee soup, Orange Beef, Broccoli with Garlic sauce unbelievable, and everything else we've ever had there has been great. Truth be told , we also love the room. White tablecloth great dinner music and fantastic staff. Don 't miss it.

Way over-priced! Not good by any measure. I asked for a combo meal for takeout and I got an order of orange chicken and a small container of steamed rice for $17!

I've been to my share of Chinese restaurants across the country from cheap to fancy, and this is easily my favorite. Pricey yes and I honestly never get to go unless my parents bring me or it's a fancy occasion on my budget but I love it. I've had dishes I didn't like but I've found a few such as the orange beef or crispy pork that I can't get enough of. Another one others get is scallops and garlic rice, I don't like seafood but the garlic rice is fantastic!

As a Chinese person who grew up in NYC and frequents China and HK, his place gets my approval for the best Chinese restaurant in the Burlington area. It is, however, a bit expensive. The worst thing that could happen here is that some dishes become asian fusion. But the chow fun is definitely authentic. But if you're away from home, and you want something that is close to authentic, go here.

Came here based on the two positive Yelp reviews, as I was visiting from out of town and in the mood for Chinese. Food was OK, but way overpriced. The wonton soup seemed more like a chicken broth vegetable soup (there were carrots, chili slices and other veggies in the soup) with two wontons than regular wonton soup and fried rice was an extra charge above the $15/plate. The food wasn't bad, it was pretty decent but nothing to write home about for the price.

An easily forgotten favorite! Located outside of Burlington & hidden behind fast food row on Williston Rd, the food at Silver Palace is fresh, delicious, & reasonable. Dinner for 2 special with soups, apps, 2 entrees, & 2 deserts for $39.99 is a deal! Service is experienced, atmosphere is clean & quiet (not sure I'd bring the kids), and... did I say food was outstanding! Sizzling steak was fantastic; lobster ravioli was good; won ton soups were original & like I've never had (vegi, slices pork & chicken, 2 shrimp & won ton... wow!) Cheese cake for desert, simple yet great!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
